Dear Parents and Families,
Hello and welcome to Pre-K at Lewis and Clark Elementary! I am very excited for the opportunity to work with your child during the upcoming year. As I will be getting to know you and your child, I would like to take the opportunity to share a little bit about myself with you.
I am a lifelong resident of Mechanicsville and attended Hanover County Public Schools. After high school, I attended J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, where I received an Associate in Science degree. Upon graduation, I transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University. At VCU, I was able to fulfill the requirements for both a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Masters of Teaching in Elementary Education. In addition to my college practical experiences, I served as a substitute teacher for two years, working with Preschool through 5th Grade students.
I am now entering my ninth year as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher in Caroline County. I worked for four years at Ladysmith Primary (now known as Madison Elementary) and am very excited to start my fifth year at Lewis and Clark Elementary. I am very proud to be the 2009Teacher of the Year for both Lewis and Clark and Caroline County.
In closing, I would like to again welcome you and your child to Pre-Kindergarten at Lewis and Clark Elementary. I know as a team, we will make this coming year a very successful and positive learning experience in your child’s life. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that may arise. I may be reached at school at (804) 448-0175 or through my email, cscott@ccps.us.
Sincerely,
Corey E. Scott
